Deep black onyx on one side and steely hematite on the other, this antique locket fob was likely made as a mourning piece meant to contain photographs or even the lock of hair of a lost loved one! Each stone is a flat, cut-corner rectangle slate on either face of the locket, which swivels and opens horizontally. The hematite is beautifully framed with wide triple-sectioned tension prongs, carved with textured pyramids along the short edges, while the thinner onyx is cleanly bezel-set on the other side. Handmade around 1900 in 14k rose gold, this locket is ready to hold onto memories for years to come!
